Last year, Square Enix announced the Weapon Design Contest for FFXIV, offering templates to the more artistically inclined members of the community and giving them an opportunity to design a weapon to be implemented into the game.

Today, those winners were announced! The works are pretty impressive, and the finalists all had interesting ideas. Those who contributed to the contest will receive rare in-game rewards.

Did any of you submit artwork to the contest? If so, we'd love to see it! As an honorable mention, my wife submitted an entry to the contest as well! Hers is themed after cherry blossoms for Samurai.

Today we’re pleased to present the winning designs that have been selected as grand prize winners and finalists. As we received an astounding number of entries, we have decided to select two grand prize winners for each job with both planned to be implemented in-game in the future! Furthermore, we are also planning to hold another Weapon Design Contest focused on the reaper and sage jobs, so please stay tuned for details.
